2010 is going to be a creative year for me, haha

Posted by Unknown at 12:04 PM 0 comments
i'm trying to be as creative as possible for LHP453, my english class sake
since the class is based on creative writing
i have been taught to be creative in all sorts of different ways
weird ways you can say
but the funny thing is that it works
the first day of class, the lecturer told us to get out of class, get some fresh air
and write him a two-stanzas poem
i am no good at poetries
hence i did the only poem i've ever done in my life
the one about my father
i was blurred mostly
since i have no idea how to make a poem sounds...
well, like a poem

it's new year's eve
but somehow i feel left out
pissed
alone
and starving

oh what the hell right ?
as long as i'm happy and you're happy right ?
haha

Happy New Year 2010 to all of you !!
May all your dreams come true !!

2nd day in Langkawi Island

Posted by Unknown at 7:26 AM 2 comments
words cannot describe how tired i am right at this moment
my feet is really sore after a long walk or hike should i say
we went to the Langkawi Cable Car which was really high above sea level but it holds extremely beautiful sceneries that you can view from the top of the mountain

view from inside of the cable car, see the Island of Pregnant Maiden ?

Langkawi Cable Car, not suitable for those that are afraid of height.. cause they're extremely high and the wind was darn strong that the cable swing heavily (but trust the 'sistem kepakaran' haha

that's the Hanging Bridge, i could feel the bridge vibrated against the strong wind and it made me shivered from the cold air and the fear that it might collapse.. haha

 me, mama, and sister

romantic ? haha.. no way !

see how high it is ?? huhu

the we went to Petronas Quay for a little detour(we were lost actually, stupid GPS navigator)
so many yachts !
i wish to own one someday.. haha

then we went to Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells)
but found out that we had to hike for about 30minutes to get to the first well
then hike some more to get to the other wells
we didn't
i wish we did hike it
but my parents were tired and since they're not as young and energetic as i am
i hiked alone
but just as far as the waterfall
they wouldn't let me go far
i love hiking and it was really frustrating
maybe next time

last stop was Langkawi Underwater World
compared it to the previous two that i've been before which was Aquaria KLCC and Underwater World, Sydney...
this one would be at the bottom
it was okay
but Aquaria was a lot more fun and Sydney's had the Great White Shark ! haha

 sea urchins

don't remember it's name, but the color's really pretty !

jellyfish !!

tomorrow's destination will be the Island of Pregnant Maiden (Tasik Dayang Bunting)
and some more shopping spree
haha

we're staying at Langkawi Seaview Hotel with a nice view

view from the balcony

after we checked in
which we have to wait almost an hour because the previous guests checked out late
which shouldn't have happen
and since langkawi is scorching hot
the situation made me a lot more hotter
then my family left me in the hotel lobby alone to look after the luggage while they went to look for gas station
and so i sat there alone
and i'm pretty sure looking stupid also
oh, wth...

then our first destination was Mahsuri Tomb

the tomb of the legendary Mahsuri

my sister inside of Mahsuri replica house when she grew up

candid pic of dad and mom

Avatar, an epic unlike any other

Posted by Unknown at 11:27 PM 2 comments

the storyline is pretty simple but if it were any more complicated, it would be hard for anyone to follow
Avatar sets in Pandora, a land inhabit by an indigenous population called the Na'vi and all other kinds of six-legged creatures that roam freely on the planet.
the Na'vi are about 9 foot tall(they're really tall)

Neytiri

if you have watch the trailer, i think you get how the movie goes
it shows how dark and greedy humans really are
because a stupidly named composite 'unobtanium'
which is located under the very home of the Na'vi called Hometree
oh btw, the unobtanium is very expensive
humans are willing to drive the Na'vi out of their lands by force
and Jake Sully, a wounded former jarhead drive his own avatar and went on an assignment to infiltrate the Na'vi...
learn their ways and become one of them with the guidance of the chief's daughter, Neytiri
of course they fell in love and Jake is torn between love and duty

Neytiri and Jake

then a war broke out between the humans and the natives
then you have to go watch Avatar yourself. haha

the movie would not have succeed if the actors sucks
but they don't
James Cameron have always chosen his casts based on their characters instead of their star powers
Sam Worthington delivered his role brilliantly as a broken ex-marine who's just trying to prove himself and get out of his dead twin brother's shadow
he managed to show his excitement seeing himself become a Na'vi
Zoe Saldana surprised me as a native, Neytiri
she talks, acts, and walks like a real ummmm 'alien' i supposed ?
haha
Sigourney Weaver, last i saw her was in Aliens.
and love Michelle Rodriguez !! she rocks !!

the visuals are realistic, fantastic, awesome and breathtakingly beautiful !
the world of Pandora is just too gorgeous
the jungle holds thousands of mysteries

the movie's duration is about 2hours 30minutes
but i didn't feel like i sat in the cinema for two and a half hours
time passes by and i wasn't aware of it
it's because Avatar contains so much
James Cameron described everything in fine details
how the character develops
how complex Pandora is
creatures in Pandora
the war
the love
the guilt
the end~

i wanna watch Avatar in 3D !!

Parliament Seminar @ Royale Chulan Hotel

Posted by Unknown at 11:11 PM 2 comments
it was a one day seminar on ways to strengthen the parliament institution in conjunction with it's 50th year celebration.
the seminar was held on the 6th of December.
the panels were interesting enough that i didn't fall asleep.

the panels were Datuk Dr. Shad Saleem Faruqi, Emeritus Professor of Law UiTM
Professor Dr. Ahmad Atory Bin Hussain from School of Social Sciences, USM (my school of course)
Associate Professor Dr. Joseph M. Fernando from Faculty of Arts and Sciences, UM
Members of the Parliament(MP)
YB Tuan Hj. Fadillah Yusof, Dep. Min. of MOSTI
Speaker of The House of Representatives
and the list goes on

the seminar was on sunday

the only reason i could think of why in the name of God the did it on that day is so that
the MPs can come down since it's an off day
but it didn't exactly turn out that way
we were wishing for all the 222 MPs would participate that day..
or at least many of them
but no,
they didn't
wth right ?
they were soo little of them that we students from various universities outnumbered them
forget it..

the speaker said some things about certain MPs that instead of motioning their agenda to the conference, they put it on their blogs.
he recalled an article 'another black day in the parliament'
well, i know nothing of this of course
i like it when he said a phrase that goes like this:
"kalau boleh tembak satu bullet, knp perlu tembak satu magazine"
and the entire hall burst out laughing
there's also a topic on the safety of the parliament and gender inequality
how there are so little women that served in the parliament
haha
maybe women do not like to dwell in the world of politics

other things i get out of this seminars
there are still MPs that invoked racial and religious issues just to get attention
it's because they are bankrupt of ideas and knowledge according to a very important figure in our country. haha
we observe our politicians through the media streams.
we have been given much entertainment by them through the way they behave.
to most people they're entertainment!
how disturbing!

the goal is to make Malaysian Parliament a world-class parliament
well, it still is a long way to go
you've seen it in the news
how simple topics can turn the parliament conference into a complete chaos
how they could fight over issues and seemed childish in national television
maybe they should work on that first and act like mature people
but we're lucky that our parliament
don't have people shooting at each other or throwing things at one another
haha!

a review on new moon score, lovely

Posted by Unknown at 10:16 PM 6 comments
i'm still in New Moon mood
i have listened to the entire album of New Moon score composed by Alexandre Desplat
and played by the London Symphony Orchestra

i have to say that the scores are just amazing!
they're beautiful music
sometimes i cringed when i listened to them
twilight score by Carter Burwell was great
but this one is far more greater

okay, here is the list of the scores and their scenes as well :

1)"New Moon" - it's edward & bella's theme. it was in the movie several times. if you're wondering, this is the melody that played at the beginning of the movie when the moon disappeared. it's really lovely.
2)"Bella Dreams" - this is in the early scene when bella dreams of herself as an old lady standing next to edward whom is forever 17
3)"Romeo & Juliet" - this is when they were in the classroom watching Romeo & Juliet. i love the part where edward reiterated romeo's lines. i could feel my hair standing on the back of my neck.
4)"Volturi Waltz" - well, it's eerie. when i heard this song in the scene where the Volturi killed another vampire, i instantly thought this music fits them really well. haha
5)"Blood Sample"- i think this one was in the scene where jasper attacked bella because he couldn't restrain himself from the smell of bella's blood. poor jasper.
6)"Edward Leaves" - this piece is sooo sad but brilliant. esp when it goes with the scene where edward kissed bella's forehead and then left her stumbling in the forest alone calling out his name.
7)"Werewolves" - this one was in bella's dream when she started remembering the Quiluete Legend told by Jacob and she realized that Jake is a werewolf. the music follows bella confrontation with jake at his house but later found that jake was still asleep. then she confronted Sam Uley's pack.. you know what happens then.
8)"I Need You" - it's from the movie theatre scene where she went to the movies with mike and jake. the part when bella told jake she needs him and so on.
9)"Break Up" - this was used when bella confronted jake under the rain. it's weird when bella asked if jake's breaking up with her considering the fact that they were never a couple. but you guys know what she means.
10)"Memories of Edward" - this is when bella was looking for the meadow on her own only to find it not they way she expected it. there were no more flowers and the place looks dead.
11)"Wolves vs. Vampire" - i don't really recall the scene when this one was used. but i think it was in the scene at the meadow when bella was almost killed by laurent but saved by the wolf pack. the scene where the wolves chased laurent i think.
12)"Victoria" - victoria's theme i guess. haha. it's creepy and fits victoria as a sadistic vampire.
13)"Almost a Kiss" - i love this one. of course it's in the scene where jake almost kissed bella except they were interrupted by the phone call from edward. omg, this one is really2 beautiful.
14)"Adrenaline" - this one was in the scene where bella is about to jump of the cliff and was talking to edward. she said,"you wanted me to be a human, watch me." with this music in the background. seriously, i almost cried.almost but did not.
15)"Dreamcatcher" - this one is sad but lovely. it's when jake went to bella in her room to apologize for breaking his promise. he tried to make bella remember. it's breathtakingly beautiful.
16)"To Volterra" - it's the part where alice and bella trying to get into volterra in an attempt to stop edward from showing himself to the humans. listening to this sends chills down my spine.
17)"You are Alive" - it played when bella rescued edward in italy. bella jumped at edward telling him to step back. and edward saying heaven. maybe he thought he died and seeing bella means he's in heaven. haha. love the scene btw.
18)"The Volturi" - it's actually the same as to volterra but it still is a great song nevertheless.
19)"The Cullens" - it describes the cullen family/olympic coven perfectly. i think this one was also played when they were voting whether to make bella an immortal or not. yayy! team carlisle. haha.
20)"Marry Me, Bella" - this one gave me goosebumps. it's pretty and went well with such a scene. a perfect ending to the movie. bella gasping when edward ask her to marry him. haha
21)"Full Moon" - i think this one was when bella talked to jake at the end of the movie. when she told jake that it has always been edward. poor jacob. you could see the sadness in his wolf eyes. and the he ran away. it was really sad considering he really like her so much.

whoaaahhh, felt like i just wrote an essay
haha
but overall, it is a really amazing, beautiful, awesome scores.
it is mistifyingly surreal
and full of raw emotions

i dunno what else to say
for i have no words left best describe the music.
you should listen to them yourself and you'll see what i mean

they're the best i have ever listened to !!
