2 weeks of insanity and craziness...

Posted by Unknown at 12:11 AM 7 comments

it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. from whar i've heard from the seniors it was almost as if the 2 weeks of training is like 2 weeks in hellfire..hehe. there were of course times when we were really stressed out like roll calls, night round, early morning activity and a whole lot more. but none of us ever take them seriously. maybe that's why none of us think of it as something stressful. instead of stress we had a real good time there. and i'd never trade the memories and experiences i gained from it for anything.

to tell you guys in detail about what happened during those 2 weeks is impossible. 1 day and 1 one night wouldn't be enough for me to jot evrything down here. when we first arrived at KD Sri Pinang, we were told that on 1st Disember, one of the highest ranking officer in the Navy will be visiting the place, the "Panglima" TLDM for audits. basically our training has been out of the schedule because of this event. but that was the first time in my life i've ever participated in such a huge event involving such an important figure in the malaysian naval defense. i felt honoured.

the next day was friday. we had to jump into the sea that has been mixed with excrements. yukkksss..i know. but that's the truth. honestly, when it comes to swimming, without the life jacket provided, you wouldn't be reading this rite now. haha. even with the life jacket on i struggled so hard to get to the liferaft. see how terrible i am when i swim. when i jumped into the water, i think i drank some of it and it tasted salty. hahaahha~

on monday was hari raya haji. so we basically had one day off. it was a relieve to have at least one day free coz the first week was definitely tiring. it was the first time i spent my hari raya haji away from my family. to make it sound more sadistic...over the sea.. hahaha... but it wasn't that bad. it's a good thing sometimes to be apart from your family .if other people on hari raya haji went to visit their relatives...us ? we went to visit Tesco..haha..do some window shopping and then ate at KFC.

on wednesday, we went to the shooting range. from this day i figured that i love to shoot guns. haha. we did M-16, Glock 17 and HK. shooting an M16 is a lot more easier than shooting a pistol. i've never ever hold a weapon before in my life. i didn't show how excited i was but on the inside you have no idea how excited i was. when i fired the first bullet out of the M16, i thought i went deft for a moment. hehe.. GI shaharim was sitting next to me and kept telling me to aim the lower side of the target and get a strong grip on the weapon. take a deep breath, take your time and shoot. he kept repeating them then he said you did well. he told me 6 out of 10 bullets i fired hit the target. i was shocked coz from the scoreboard most of my friends didn't hit the target and only few did. he told me next time target your weapon lower than the middle box. the highest scorer was my friend jannah she scored 14 marks and i scored 12 marks. when shooting the HK, i managed to shoot down one plate only. seriously, i personally think M16 is easier to shoot compared to pistols.

the last day of training was friday. we did the last early morning activity (EMA) where we had to do physical training at 5am until 6.15am. it was darn tiring. all of the punishments were really tough. 10 rounds of the marching court, side rolls to the right and left. i can't remember how many hundred times i have done side rolls. one night during roll call, the ladies had to side roll along the marching court twice. some of us didn't make it, some of us puked and some of us became icebergs. haha.. but i completed the two rounds. i dunno why but i love to side roll. yes it's dizzy but it's fun since you're lying on the ground. hehe...

overall. Annual Continuous Training ant KDSP was fun and enjoying. however, i doubt it would be the same next year at a different place KDSI where it is full of regulars and high ranking officers. but life is short, so you have to live it to the fullest. be happy although you are being punished. it's fun. you get to laugh and cry with those dearest to you. go through happy and harsh times together. an i'm lovin' it !!!!
