merdeka frenzies, raya crazies

Posted by Unknown at 10:09 AM 0 comments
It's Malaysian 53rd Independence... so, Happy 53rd Birthday MALAYSIA!! i am one hell of a proud Malaysian, in certain things only. of course there are things that i am not proud of. and i'm just gonna keep it to myself.. no need to say. you guys can guess for yourself. i am happy today, because everyone else is happy. everyone gets their day off from work, school, classes, etc. so everyone walks around with big fat smile on their faces. for me, it's not just because everyone's happy that i'm happy. it's also because my loan money's in!! i get to spend it on things i have longed for.

first thing first i did my hari raya hair (although i'm wearing scarf, still i need hari raya hair) haha.. before this i used to straightened my hair.. today, my friends urged me to perm my hair.. not an actual 'perm' where your hair turns into maggi mee. light perm. i absolutely love it !! it looks messy!!

then we went straight to Queensbay Mall. my goodness, gracious GOD!!! it was crowded with human beings!! too crowded. the one dress that i really aimed for was gone.. out of stock! sooooo devastated. had to buy anther one. but it's fine by me. i bought this pink shirt. it would be nice if i have a cream cardigan!

were supposed to break fast at McDonald's but no empty seats left. then we went to Dave's Deli instead. had cream carbonara pasta with meatballs, two scoops of mashed potato (my all-time favorite dish) with ice lemon tea and date fruit of course.

went to pray. after that went to eat Baskin Robbins !! pint size only laa.. because today is 31st!! hence 31% discount which is a lot cheaper compared to the actual price. wonder when i will get to eat Hagen Daaz ice cream. who's gonna pay for it huh? haha

we are full and we are happy. but my money flows like water while shopping.. haha

and this was how we spent or Merdeka Day

preparing for new canon lenses!

Posted by Unknown at 11:55 PM 1 comments
i went to break fast with the photography club a couple of days ago. i was kinda jealous when a few of them started to take out the DSLR cameras with huge lenses. extra flash also. it made me want one. mine is only EFS 18-55mm. so when i got back to the hostel, i browsed the net for affordable lenses. i found one shop at Penang KOMTAR called colors & colors. now, i have three choices in mind. the prices are damn affordable and cheaper than the actual price. these are my choices :

1) EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM

my friend bought this one for RM800 smthg while the actual price almost reached RM4000

2) EF 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM

found this one for RM590. dunno the actual price but compatible with my 500D even though it's an EF lens. but i dont see any IS. huuhh

3) EF S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS

this one is RM 800 smhtg also.

out of the three,i prefer the first one and the last one. but i'm only gonna pick one. and i need experts help!!

lost in corporate crowd

Posted by Unknown at 6:41 AM 3 comments
today is the day that i felt really small and insignificant. like i was a fly or an ant or perhaps a bacteria! me and two other friends, tikah and kak ella went to a talk hosted by Intel Co. well, basically our lecturer invited us. being the really dumb person i am or maybe we were, we said yes and stupidly tagged along. at first we didn't think going to that talk would be some of a big deal for college students like us. the talk was about Intel's corporate social responsibility's development and stuff. we thought since we're gonna have to do presentations in front of board directors of various multi-national corporations, it would be somewhat helpful to attend this talk. luckily it was helpful though. but that's not the point. the point is, i dunno about you guys, but i think we look like the three stooges. i thought we look kinda dumb and lost and not knowing what to do. it was like really hard to mingle around the crowds. why is this? i'll tell ya why. it is because, everyone who attended the talk were people from the corporate world (sadly, not our world). not to mention there were CEOs, vice president of Intel Co. worldwide and some other positions i don't know of. but i think it's safe to say that these are some really well-connected, well-established, and well-known individuals in the world of corporate business. and suddenly, somewhere along the crowd stood three little stooges looking like misfits. it was hard enough to create a conversation with them, let along invite them to our upcoming seminars. plus, we could barely speak their language (business language). but somehow, it had to be done and we gathered all the courage we had left and began to strike up small conversations with few of them. so we basically introduced ourselves and then started promoting our event. and somewhere along the way we managed to talk about some other things which don't involve CSR.

maybe we did look dumb. but the point is that confidence is important. it really is essential in order to survive in a situation like ours. no matter how small and insignificant you are, you gotta have the courage. in our case, it is the courage to talk to people that were ultimately superior than us in every aspects. knowledge, experience, social status, etc.

btw, tikah and kak ella, you guys have no idea how blurred and lost we look today. i could see it in your eyes, your behavior, even your expression. haha... well, still today we learned our lessons.

keep up guys!
do come to our seminars next week

Date : August 24th, 2010
Venue : CP-TAG, University Science Malaysia
Time : 3.30pm - 4.30pm

the topic is on the history of corporate social responsibility (CSR)

a day spent across the penang bridge.
broke fast somewhere in bandar perda.
spent twenty something solely on food.
ate a lot.
rice + ikan bawal goreng + ayam goreng + ulam raja + cempedak goreng + roti john = death due to excess consumption of food.
went to sunway carnival.
bought the last airbender movie ticket at 11.30pm.
went 'lepaking' at some random R n R near the beach.
took some random pictures of the port.
talked about the future and craps.
screwed around the playground with the kiddies.
went to watch the last airbender.
 almost fell asleep.
went back to the island.
went to sahur at sri gambir (again eat).
everyone weary from the long day spent talking shit and stuff.
went back to hostel at 2.30am.
stop in front of room and searched for keys.
DAMN!!
keys were nowhere to be found!
lost them somewhere a long the journey.
had to climb through the window
door cannot open from the inside also.
so, had to climb out the window the next day to look for spare keys.
el stupido~

the holy month finally arrives

it's fasting month people! time to lose some weight. or maybe gain some in my case. haha. well, my YPJ scholar's on their way. i'm just glad they have the wisdom to quickened the process after being harassed by my father and me through several annoying phone calls to the office. i had to wait for almost two friggin' months for my scholar. people should know that it is the beginning of semester where students really need those money to buy a list of should-be-read-for-every-class books and a bunch of other stupid stuff. and it's the sale of the year people! it would be such a waste to not do a little shopping when there are great bargains! in fact it would be a crime! for a girl at least it is.. =)

have a nice Eid Mubarak friends and families and also strangers!

even though it sounds completely silly..
i still have a list for my shopping spree that needs to be accomplished before mid year sales end....
a jacket... found one that caught my eyes..
a dress.... some dress that could go with the jacket..
shoes... i was thinking of buying crocband flats.. but i'm keeping my options open...
a ladies bag with scarf decorated on it... i'm starting to becoming some sort of a fashion freak! o'oh...
there goes my money....
this is really hazardous for both my pocket and my health...
but i can't help myself...
