The famous thing about Amsterdam & Holland

16 days of travelling in Holland, Liverpool and Czech Republic. Mostly Holland and Czech Republic. I threw in Liverpool into my already-packed itinerary because I am an avid fan of Liverpool Football Club. Initially wanted to catch Stevie G's last game with Liverpool. Would've stayed and watched if the ticket wasn't so over-the-top expensive! A tour of the stadium and a little bit of the legendary The Beatles were enough I guess. 

I am going to post a few photos that people normally associate Netherlands/Holland with.

Tulips. They're pretty much everywhere in Holland especially in spring.

They're gorgeous right? The colors look too good to be true! I felt like my eyes were deceiving me at the time but nope they're as real as tulips can get! It's just right outside Keukenhof Gardens. After strolling around inside the garden, I very much recommend you rent a bike just outside the garden and cycle along the provided routes (whichever one you choose). I cycled for three hours through the bulbfields and my goodness the view was just too amazing to describe in words! I wish I had cycle a little bit more towards the dunes and beaches!

Next is of course the windmills! I visited both Zaanse Schans and Kinderdijk in which both places are famous for windmills. There won't be Amsterdam without these hardcore windmills considering the fact that pretty much all of Holland used to be underwater back then. Zaanse Schans is a more touristic area with plenty of demonstration conducted in the area. Kinderdijk on the other hand is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and contains 19 windmills in which 1 or 2 are still operating as usual. Both places are beautiful nonetheless.

Red Light District! How can you forget Red Light District? Holland is a place where weed is legal and prostitution is a taxable job. There aren't much pictures of the Red Light District because photography is limited in the area. Photos of the girls behind the glasses are prohibited. They would bang on the glass if they notice someone taking pictures of them.

I didn't try the weeds there though. Wish I had but that's just wishful thinking. I still know my limits. Pub with rock music was enough for me. Lol.

Sure thing Netherlands is famous for the things I mentioned above but there are abundance of other things that make the country beautiful and stand out. I literally have thousands of pictures in my computers right now labeled Holland 2015.

But this post is just me talking about the more famous part of Holland. I'm going to write some more posts that will be about the Dutch people (they are so friendly that it makes me so happy while traveling alone. Not to mention Dutch guys are so good looking that I thought I had melted at certain points). The architecture of Amsterdam is to be talked about soon.
